Schwartz recently sent us some of their new range of products including their Perfect Shake herb and spice blends and the Flavour Shots.
The Perfect Shake is a herb and spice blend to add flavour to your everyday dishes.
They can easily be used in sauces, marinades or sprinkled on to chicken, meat, fish or vegetables to easily add great flavour. There are 27 varieties available so something for every occasion!
We were sent Perfect Shake Pasta, Perfect Shake Spanish and Perfect Shake Chips.
Perfect Shake Pasta - a delicious blend of tomato, oregano and basil. Ideal in tomato based pasta sauces and Bolognese for adding Italian flair
Perfect Shake Spanish - a tasty seasoning blend of smoked paprika and red and green bell peppers. Perfect used in a tomato sauce over patatas bravas or sprinkle into a Spanish omelette
Perfect Shake Chips - a sweet and spicy blend of paprika, onion and garlic. Great for adding a delicious twist to classic chips or potato wedges
The Perfect Shake range is available in all major supermarkets and include on-pack hints and tips. They retail at around £1.63 to £1.82 pr pot.
I decided to try out the Perfect Shake Spanish in a frittata. I added a good teaspoon full to the mix before cooking. It was very easy to use and really added a great bit of extra flavour to the frittata.
I have also tried out the Perfect Shake Chips. At first I thought it might be a little like the infamous 'Chip Spice' that you get in Hull. I put it on some already cooked chips, however, it needed cooking with the chips. I have since used this on wedges and oven baked chips and it is really tasty. It coats the potatoes really well and adds that little something extra to the ordinary chip.
Flavour Shots are an easy way to create delicious mid-week family meals with very few ingredients. They are packed full of herbs, spices and seasonings, infused in oil.
The three new flavours that we were sent were Spanish Paella, Italian Creamy Herb Tagliatelle and Indian Spicy Jalfrezi Curry.
The range now includes eight exciting varieties with a simple three step recipe, so a delicious new dish can be served up every night of the week.
New to the range are:
- Italian Creamy Herb Tagliatelle - perfect for making a smooth and creamy classic Italian pasta dish
- Spanish Paella - ideal for making Spanish cooking simple and authentic tasting

We have tried out the Spanish Paella Flavour Shot in a risotto. The Flavour Shot was very easy to use, simply shake, pour, sizzle and cook!
It really did add a great flavour to the risotto and a little bit of spice too. For the RRP I think they are a great way to add that bit of extra flavour and give you some inspiration for a family meal. They are a great store cupboard ingredient!
