Ah, Dry Shampoo. A product I love to hate! J Finding a good cruelty-free dry shampoo seemed
virtually impossible to me…until I tried the Acure Argan Stem Cell + CoQ10 Dry Shampoo! Now, I’ve had this at
least since Christmas and I kept trying it, but just couldn’t quite figure it
out. If I had had some sense and looked at the directions on the container, all
of my confusion would have been remedied, but that’s just too simple! J So why did this
perplexing dry shampoo keep my interest for so long? Let’s find out!!! J
Let’s first get my silly trouble with this packaging out of
the way. This is a powder dry shampoo that comes in a shaker “bottle” much like
a standard refill for a salt shaker. Nothing fancy and nothing complicated, but
somehow just shaking the powder on to my head and trying to work it in just
didn’t seem like the best way to apply it. Don’t laugh. I really did try it that way. J In fact, I tried every
way I could think of to dispense this powder on my hair. Putting it on a brush
and brushing it through, sprinkling it in my hand and dumping it on my head in
spots, and anything else that might sound utterly ridiculous to do with your
hair. Seriously, stop laughing. I know, I sound like a complete idiot, but I
truly could not figure this out! One day I just decided to throw caution to the
wind and dump a small puddle into my hand and finger comb through my hair.
Well, wouldn’t you know that’s just about what the directions say to do! Yeah.
There are directions and yes, label
reading queen that I am, I failed to find them! J
So, mystery solved! Shake some of the powder into your palms and work it into
the hair. I feel like I deserve some sort of breakthrough technological
discovery award for that one…especially since it’s written right on the
container! J
So, now that you’ve had a good chuckle, let’s move on to how it works, shall
we?
Obviously there must have been some reason I kept trying so hard to figure out how to dispense
this wonder powder. Indeed! There is a glorious white powder…wait, this sounds
like it could be going down a different kind of road. J Let’s try again…there is a
fantastic dry shampoo inside that will eliminate greasiness without altering a
healthy shine! And though it is white,
there is literally no white cast left
behind…even on my super dark roots! I find other dry shampoos often may not
exactly leave a white residue, but there can be kind of a gray cast left behind.
Not cool, but not with Acure! It is also not sticky or tacky – in fact, you
really can’t feel the powder at all! It contains Argan Stem Cells and CoQ10,
which boost keratin and retain moisture, which helps keep hair healthy and
strong…and not looking like dried out straw. Not only that, it doesn’t have a
noticeable scent, which is fantastic in my book. It is hands down the best dry shampoo for refreshing and
reviving hair! J
If you are looking for something to help revive day or two
old hair, I would definitely recommend the Acure
Argan Stem Cell + CoQ10 Dry Shampoo. I have found nothing better! And
though I had trouble figuring out how to use it, there are directions right on the bottle. I just shake a bit into my
palms, rub them together and, with my head held upside down to make things
easier, I simply run my hands through the hair, concentrating on the roots. If
needed, I’ll do this a few times until my hair looks the way I want. This dry
shampoo can take care of some pretty dirty lookin’ hair if need be! J I wouldn’t say it’s the
best for adding volume, but I find that whatever volume I had after initially
styling my hair will pretty much return once I use Acure’s Dry Shampoo. I think
one of my favorite things about this dry shampoo is that it doesn’t leave your
hair looking flat and dull like many others. Your hair looks healthy and
natural – literally like it was just washed! It’s fantastic stuff, and one
generously sized shaker of Acure’s Argan
Stem Cell + CoQ10 Dry Shampoo will last ages, unlike those spray cans that
run out after about one week of use! You need
to try Acure’s Dry Shampoo!!!
Acure’s website
sells the Argan Stem Cell + CoQ10 Dry Shampoo for $12.99, but you can also find
it at Whole Foods (I think mine was $9.99 there) or at other online retailers
like VitaCost and iHerb.
