Last weekend we had a wonderful Rajasthani dinner at Rajdhani. The whole course was wonderful but I was quiet hooked to the delicious juice that was served as welcome drink Up on inquiry I was told that was the all famous aam panna. I have heard and read about this drink so many times but never tasted until then, well it became an immediate favorite :). Now I so wanted to try my hands at this drink and purchased a raw mango and started hunting for recipe and I found the one at Sailus food very interesting and simple to make.I followed her basic recipe and varied the proportions and result was awesome. We feasted upon it the whole day. Instead of making it as a preserve I made it as an instant drink. Here is how I made it.
Ingredients:
1 raw mango
4 Tbs sugar
10 pepper corns
1 tsp fennel seeds
2 big cardamom3 cups waterMethod:
1.Peel the mango, remove the seed and chop roughly.
2.Pressure cook the mango pieces up to 4 whistles and drain once pressure is released.
3.Blend the mango pieces smoothly along with other ingredients, strain and serve cold.
Time: 30 mins
Yield: 4 glass
