One year ago, the residents of Newtown Conncecticut, USA, were preparing for Christmas, when a young man burst into a school and opened fire at point blank range. The shooter was Adam Lanza, who was diagnosed in 2005 as suffering from Asperger Syndrome, an Autism-like disorder.
The residents of Newtown would like the focus on what happened there to change, as they are trying despeerately to pick up the pieces and return to a more or less normal way of life. One of the residents said; ‘I doubt whether we’ll ever be whatever normal is supposed to be.’
Their good news is that Newtown’s High School’s football team is doing well, and to quote’ ‘We like to think that we put a smile on someone’s face every time we win,’ a team member said.
