A Weekend Box Full of Activities

By Mummyoftwo @RaspberryGiggle

Little Mr A and I were recently sent a Weekend Box full of craft activities to try out and review.

A Weekend Box full of activities

Weekend Box is a fortnightly subscription which sends you a box full of activities. In each box you receive something to cook, something to make, something to explore and something green.

The activities are aimed at children aged 3-8 and are designed to build sensory exploration skills as well as teaching them about different life skills in a fun way.

When the box arrived it looked very bright, colourful and fun! Definitely something to get children excited about right from the start! Upon opening the box, I was really impressed at how many different activities were included and how well wrapped and set out everything was.

The activities we received were; make a bird feeder; 3D glasses; sand art; potato boats. You also receive a little colouring book too!

Little Mr A decided to start with the bird feeder. All of the items were included and the instructions were easy to follow. The only thing I would say is that the glue provided is quite difficult to use as you receive it in a little plastic bag which is quite difficult to get the glue out of! Perhaps it would be better if you received a little bottle of glue for the activities included.

Little Mr A had fun putting the feeder together (with our own glue) and found the instructions easy enough to follow with very little assistance.

Next up he decided to make the 3D glasses. Again, the instructions were easy to follow. Together with the glasses, we also received some 3D images to have a look at through the glasses.

Next came sand art. For this activity we received lots of different coloured sand and two pictures to complete. Once Little Mr A had completed the two pictures that came with the box, there was still plenty of sand left which we have put away to make a picture of his own at a later date.

The last activity was the 'something to cook'. For this we received some herbs and instructions to make potato boats. Little Mr A helped me mix the herbs into the potato and then stuff them back into the potato skins which we thoroughly enjoyed eating!

I think the Weekend Box is a great idea. Little Mr A loves crafts but we often struggle for inspiration! The Weekend Box gives us those craft activities without me having to raid the craft cupboard and gives us the inspiration to go on and do further activities based on what we have received.

If you would like to try a Weekend Box with your children, you can claim your first box free by entering promotional code TAMI41 on the Weekend Box Club website. I would love to know what you think!
