A Walk Along The Brussels Canal – Part 2

It means Small Castle, but this is not a happy place. In the 19th century, it used to be a barracks and since 1986, it’s a shelter for refugees. We saw small groups of them, wandering aimlessly around the building…

The “Klein Kasteeltje” is situated in Molenbeek, which many consider to be one of the most dangerous municipalities of Brussels and even of Belgium. I have worked there for 3 years and never experienced any troubles. And during our walk, Lars and I didn’t feel unsafe either.
