A Walk Along The Brussels Canal – Part 1

By Ingridd @cosytraveler

On a sunny Sunday morning, Lars and I went to the canal in Brussels, opposite the building of Tour & Taxis:

The street is called Quai des Péniches. Every summer this place functions as the scene for Bruxelles – les – Bains: the street is covered with sand, there are all kinds of stands selling food and drinks and you can take part in a huge variety of activities.

But on that particular Sunday morning, nobody and nothing disturbed us on our morning walk. There are boats that function as a pub or even a theater and on the walls of nearby buildings, you can admire street art.

Maybe it misses the grandeur of the Thames or the romanticism of the Seine, but this is a charming place.
