It was the particular questioning curl of the smoke that caught my eye as I came around the curve and I grabbed a quick picture from the car window.
The resulting picture didn't please me so I fiddled with it. To me, the image that emerged looks like an illustration for a fairy tale of some sort.
But one good illustration needs another so I fiddled with some more mediocre pictures I'd taken. (Note: when I'm in the car in bright sunlight, I usually wear sunglasses with a violet tint and they make everything look more intriguing than it actually is. Mid day is not a great time to take pictures.)
So here I have the illustrations but no story as yet. . . Who lives in the little house? Is the creek the way to approach the house? Or is it an escape route? I don't think this is a Miss Birdie story. . . Any ideas?
