A New Perspective in Illustrating

In my illustration class we did a project where we took a picture of some random object then traced it and colored it. Once we colored our tracing we had to change it to gray scale using our eyes (not the computer program). Here's the result.

I took a picture of a Russian nesting doll from the top down. What do you think?
