A Holiday Palette

A Holiday Palette
If you know me even a little, you know I love makeup. I don't consider myself to be a pro or anything, in the application department, but I love trying new products, techniques, and styles. So when Brandbacker sent me Studio Gear's Holiday Palette, I was super excited to check it out.
A Holiday Palette
A palette consisting of four eye shadows, designed with an easy smokey eye in mind, and a blush, the palette is "perfect for creating a classic smokey eye look, with a hunt of unexpected golden glimmer." This palette couldn't have come at a better time because I had recently run out of my gray eye-shadow palette and it's the holiday season, of course!

The colors in this palette look really, really nice in their pans. However, they are not as pigmented on bare skin as one would expect. There is also no staying power - I was able to wash them off with just water. However, put the shadows on over a primer (which you should be doing anyway) and their color payoff is much, much better. In addition, they last.

The frost shade is really light. I'm not sure that I would use it anywhere except in the corner of my eyes. However, the platinum is a great silver color. It shimmers, but not too badly. Coal, the black shade, is good, but not as pigmented as a lot of black shadows. This is perhaps a good thing, if you've already got a heavy hand. The glimmer color is my favorite. A faint, shimmery gold, I can't wait to layer this over other shadows or wear it on it's own for a little sparkle! The blush, Snowy Glow, is by far the most pigmented thing in this palette, and a little goes a long way. It's coral, with a shimmer, and I'd be most likely to use it in the summer when I'm a little more tan!

All in all, this is a pretty good palette. Available at Ulta and also on Studio Gear's website, Studio Gear is offering TCC readers a 10% discount with promo code: SGHOLIDAY! It doesn't expire and is good for anything on Studio Gear's site!

**I was provided this palette by Brandbacker in return for a review. All opinions are my own.**
