This photo was taken on Big Mr A and I’s first holiday abroad together in November 2001. We had been together just over a year and had decided we would really like a proper holiday together.
We booked an all inclusive package deal to Tenerife and off we flew.
We stayed in a really lovely hotel with onsite entertainment and spent pretty much everyday relaxing by the pool, eating and drinking as much as we could and just having a great time together without the everyday stresses of work getting in the way.
On one of the days we took a day trip to Loro Park and had a lovely time wandering around in the sunshine looking at all of the animals.
To date this has been our only holiday abroad we have gone on together without any children. It was lovely to get away from it all and just spend time as a couple. Since then we have been on lots of camping and cottage holidays together but nothing can beat soaking up some sunshine whilst you know everyone else is freezing away at home!
I am sure when the Little A’s get older and fly the nest we will explore new countries together but for now we are content with reminiscing!
