I registered for a new term in Heatherley... Awaiting for the class to begin, I am diving in online Human figure classes and try to improve my knowledge on anatomy and facial features.
On one of the online class material, I found a picture of a model, she is apparently asleep and in the middle of a dream, quietly resting the hands on her chest and on her hip. I decided to spend some evenings etching in with graphite pencils. The multiple lines are softening the shadows and the curves, inviting the eye to wander around rather than fix a single point. I found it makes the drawing somehow more atmospheric - she is dreaming after all...
Here she is :
A Dream Study - 45X70cm

Another new feature in my work : I recently acquired a MUCH better camera than the one I was using until then to take pictures of my artwork, and also added a tripod to my equipment : I can get really accurate files and this will allow me to explore printing opportunities, using a drawing as a starting point for digital works... Let's see how this idea will go, and let's keep drawing.
