I have to say, excuse the picture quality! I forgot to take my camera so we used Kingsleys iPhone, even so, they were better quality than this until I enlarged them.

I hope you all had a good weekend! It was a weekend of sunshine for us – briefly, as today is absolutely pi….. tipping it down outside. It was a lovely long weekend though (even though I worked on Sunday at the Bridal Shop) and was totally made by the weather. The pictures are at Draycote Water and it was really lovely when the sun was shining, but then it got a bit cold and windy (and yes there was a giant bird in the countryside). We had a picnic of sorts and had a short walk. Clobber wise, I’ve got on: Charity Shop Dress (that leg split was lethal in the wind), Vintage Belt, old New Look Sandals, old Jacket from I don’t know where, eBay Sunglasses (I have these in all the colours that they have, love them), Topshop Bag and Charity Shop Bracelet.

Today I have started a ‘detox’ with my mom. It’s of no strict regime but we’ve sort of told ourselves what we are and aren’t to have. This is in the hope of flushing ourselves out, I’m also going to start exercising more and dieting as I’ve put on 2 stone! Has anybody else noticed a slight link with being in a relationship and putting on weight?! What is it with you men? There’s a hell of a lot of green stuff that’s overtaken the fridge and most of it is going to be soups, juices and smoothies. I found a smashing green smoothie recipe type thing on A Life Less Bulls**t blog here, who suggests choosing a liquid, greens, fruit, a ‘supercharger’ and a sweetener; to create the ‘ultimate green smoothie’ – hoping to be able to have one of these for breakfast and dinner and then for lunch a salad or something. I’ll have a play around and see what tastes best and get back to you!

Talking of health etc. I’ve found a great brand that I didn’t know about, that specialise in ethical clothing Annie Greenabelle has lovely and pretty clothes with the extra of being ethical and organic. Their statement:

“Annie Greenabelle is an ethical womens clothing brand. Our garments are predominantly made of organic and Fairtrade certified cotton. We combine this with the use of reclaimed and end-of-roll fabrics which adds variety and means many items are unique. Here at Annie Greenabelle we don’t believe that anyone or anything should be treated badly in the pursuit of a ‘bargain’ piece of clothing, that is why all our factories comply with the ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) base code. We believe that this is the way all clothing companies should be run. We aim to prove that ethical clothing can be beautiful, on-trend and affordable.”

I’ve never bought from this website before but I will do, I especially love the Blue Floral Olivia Dress, the Anais Dress, the Panelled Shirt and the Floral Shoppers.

It may not be the new year and time for resolutions, but there is always time for good deeds! Make yourself and others feel good by doing at least 3-4 of these every day (all ten for super-duper goodness!)

  1. Tell your friends/family how much you appreciate them and how much you love them.
  2. Pick that litter up off the floor and bin it, you know, the piece you would normally step over.
  3. Wish those you come into contact with, a good day. If you wish others a good day, yours will feel just that bit better than usual.
  4. The usual – give your seat up to somebody else. You don’t REALLY need it, you’re not elderly, disabled, a child, a mother with a baby, stocked up with shopping or struggling; so give it to those who are.
  5. Compliment people whenever you can; if its your local shop-worker with a new hairstyle or brighter smile, your family who’ve cooked a fabulous meal or a co-worker who’s done a great job on something.
  6. Take your neighbours wheeley-bin up for them! It may sound stupid but when you get home from work and somebody has wheeled it up your drive for you it’s great! Not that you can’t be bothered, but that somebody can be bothered to do it for you.
  7. Write a note or a letter to somebody you don’t see that often. Whether a friend, a colleague, a family member, somebody living away, or somebody you met for a brief second; letters are soo much more fulfilling and meaningful.
  8. Donate to charity, even if it’s just a little bit, or take your unwanted stuff to a charity shop.
  9. Send an anonymous gift, okay so it sounds weird, but that person who really deserves acknowledgement for their efforts, or somebody who looks glum, or somebody who is rarely in luck; leave them a small gift for them to only wonder who’s so kind as to care about them.
  10. Volunteer; anywhere! Voluntary work mean’s that you are there because you care, not for the money.

That’s all I have left to waffle about for now, I’ve been meaning to do a birthday post on the things I got for my birthday, It’s been 10 days now! But I’m just so pre-occupied that I haven’t had chance, but I will do soon, so look out for my spoilt-brat gifts!
