On September 26, 2011, the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation will hold its eighth annual Mesothelioma Awareness Day. First structured in 2004 by several volunteers, this group is proud to supportthis event which has grown to help raise both awareness and funding for this terminalillness.
Mesothelioma cancer resultsfrom asbestos exposure and symptoms are commonly hard to detect and may not emergeat all until the disease reaches its later stages. However, this annual eventhopes to dispel some of the ambiguity surrounding this disease by educating thecommunity on the risks of developing this cancer.
