It’s never fun being bitten by an insect. But the itching is sometimes the price to pay for a hike in the woods or a day of gardening. What is the boundary between a sting and disturbing a serious medical problem?

Here’s how to know when you should see a doctor.
1 – Bed bugs bites
According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), bed bugs are more annoying than dangerous to health, but this is not a reason to ignore them. In addition to strong itch you, a mattress infested keep you awake all night and you deprive of sleep.

Scabies is a most serious insect bite. It is a contagious disease that is spread through direct human contact. The female penetrates the outer layer of the skin to lay her eggs. Your skin itches you in unimaginable ways and a rash of incredible bursts buttons on your body.

According to the CDC, scabies is spreading like wildfire. So Ideally treat you right if you think you have. Your doctor will probably prescribe a lotion that will cut off the mites and their eggs.

4 – Mosquito bites

5 – tick bites
