There are people who always make the same mistake time and time again when buying running shoes. They don’t buy shoes keeping in mind the fit and land up with wrongly fitted shoes.
Here are some mistakes that we make while shopping and have been noted by the managers at sporting goods stores:
- Buying shoes based on looks
The first aspect that you should be concerned about while buying a shoe should be the fit. Looks come second. If you buy shoes that do not fit you stand the chances of hurting your feet and sometimes even injuring it permanently.
- Assuming your size
Never assume your size. A size 8 in Nike might not be the same size in Adidas. Shoes are styled differently so it always best to try on the shoes before you buy it. You don’t want to land up with shoes too tight, loose, narrow or wide.
- Buying shoes at the wrong time of the day
The best time to buy a pair of shoes is in the afternoon when your feet swell the most. Buy your shoes at the time when your feet has expanded the most so that you don’t land up with a size too small
- Not asking for deals
Every store has offers and discounts, especially for loyal regular customers. You do not lose anything by asking for a deal.
- Buying shoes that are too small
Women usually make this mistake as they like tight fitted stuff and like to flatter their egos by buying a size smaller than they really are. But forcing your feet into shoes that are smaller will only give you blisters.
The shoes should be roomy enough to wiggle your toes, but not too loose that it doesn’t grip your feet and fall off.
Happy shopping!
