3 Marketing Tools Every Wedding Pro Should Use: Part I

By Lynnwhite619 @lynnwhite

Marketing is not a one hit wonder and it’s something that has to be consistent.  It requires thought, research, and strategy.  There are 3 things that all Wedding Pros should have as part of their marketing plan.

This will be a 3 part blog series discussing what those are.  Now of course, these are not all that you should incorporate, but these are 3 big ones.  Today we are going to talk about e-zines (pronounced e-zeens), which gets it’s name from magazine.

3 Marketing Tools Every Wedding Pro Should Use: Part I
An e-zine, also known as an electronic newsletter   It’s a great, inexpensive way to stay in contact with your brides to build your know, like, and trust factor, stay on their minds until they are ready to buy, show off your skills, and build your expert status.  The distribution and length of the e-zine varies as much as the content provided in them and is determined by the publisher (you).  This marketing tool is sent using an email marketing system (which is different from Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL).  Never send your email using a basic email client (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL) as they do not have the needed functionality nor are they equipped to handle compliance of the Can-Spam Act.

According to a survey conducted by Exact Target, more than 50% of consumers make purchases as a direct outcome of an email.  Yep, you read that right….50%!

So what does all that mean to you?  It means despite the fact we have social media, email is still being read.  So how can you use this to your advantage as a Wedding Pro to build a pipeline of leads?

E-zines allow you to stay in front of a couple.  They come to your website, they see you on Twitter, they may have talked to you at a bridal show, and however they found you, and you want to keep in touch with them, right?  Staying in touch with them allows you to stay on their mind until they are ready.

E-zines allow you to brag about yourself a little.  When I say brag, I don’t mean to just come right out and brag.  There’s a way to brag about you without just throwing it in someone’s face.  How do you do this?  Give them tips for planning, talk about a wedding you have planned, photographed, etc., have a testimonial from one of your couples in every e-zine, talk about a webinar, teleseminar or class you are having where they can learn.

Imagine how many weddings you leave on the table because you don’t have that list to consistently talk to.  Don’t think of your e-zine as just another thing that you have to do.  Think of it as another way to grow your business and book more weddings.

So how do you get started?  Listen to the audio included in this kit, “Five Things You Need to Start Your E-zine.”

Do you have an e-zine?  How has it helped your wedding business?
