Use keywords effectively and in the correct places
Keywords are one of the most important aspects of a blog post, yet the incorrect use of them can actually harm your rankings in the long run. Keywords should be positioned in both the title and the metadata of the article and should be used sparingly throughout the text so as not to spam and overstuff the article in an attempt to trick Google. Doing so will actually get the website penalized and bring its ratings down.
Use internal links
Internal links are either an often-neglected aspect of SEO or one that's overdone to the point of web self-harm. In the body of a text, if possible, internal links should be placed that link to past articles on the same site. This not only adds the possibility that your readers will venture further into other articles on your site but also increases your search rank on Google by helping your article appear more coherent and relevant. It's important not to add too many links, as just like with the excessive use of keywords, it gives your article a spammy feel.
