We’re back talking about something I’m very passionate about, my furkids.
Did you know I have two rescued pit bull mixes?
That’s right! The stories are happy ones because two innocent little dogs that were previously rejected found the best home they could have ever imagined.
MINE!
Yes, I pride myself in my rehabilitation abilities wither turning both of these babies around.
Let’s meet my kids
Titan
Titan came to us at 1.5 years old in 2010. He’s said to be American Bulldog/Staffordshire Terrier Mix. He had two previous homes, two previous names, and is dysfunctional (but no fault of his own). Apparently, my handsome lug is just not wired correctly upstairs. Bad breeding? Possible. We renamed him because Teddy and Lucky just didn’t seem appropriate for such a big boy.
Months of rehabilitation and training were put into this guy. To date, he still is a tad dysfunctional, but I love him to pieces!
Zue
Zue, or what we call her Zue Zue, came to us this past summer 2015. She is said to be an American Pit Bull Terrier mix, maybe Boxer due to her muzzle. Zue, who I also call Princess Poop Eater, was a breeder girl. In July 2015, we decided to bring this 7-year-old baby girl, who had significant ear infections, into our home. Titan was ecstatic to have a girly to play with! After a month of treating her ears, we decided to adopt her. She has so much potential but due to her ear situation, we knew she wasn’t showing her best self.
Months of going to the vet for treatments and I believe we finally got it under control.
Unconditional love
What I love most about my furkids is their unconditional love. They only want to please us, have a place to be safe, and people to shower them with affection. Even at my worse days, my kids are always there to put a smile on my face or give me poopy kisses.
Trust me when I say, one dog in my home was fun. TWO dogs are absolute excitement. They definitely keep me on my toes!
Dogs are therapeutic
Did you know Dogs are Scientifically Proven to Aide in Healing? They absolutely are! But they are also so much more! Let’s look at this awesome infographic!
- Dogs don’t feel guilt – could have fooled me on this one – puppy dog eyes
- Dogs can smell disease – know to sniff out cancer
- Dogs can see in color – my dogs love red toys!
- Dog urine can corrode metal – don’t let them pee on your air conditioner!
- Dogs are pretty smart – smarter than a lot of people in this world
- Tail wagging has its own language – tail wagging doesn’t always mean “I’m happy.”
- They really are hot dogs – if your dog is panting, they could be too hot and need to cool down
- Dogs have their own footprint – very cool – just like fingerprints
- Dogs dream just like us – this is one of my favs – mine run, eat, whine, bark, and so much more in their sleep
- Dogs can fall in love – I honestly believe my Titan LOVES Zue – he’s lost without her plus the obnoxious way he’s always trying to hump her. 🙂
