When you are aiming to lose weight, what you stock in your refrigerator also makes a huge difference on the weight that you will shed.

We all turn to our fridges when we are craving food and it’s usually the place where we are presented with a lot of unhealthy choices.

When we decide to go on a weight loss plan, the first thing we need to do is clear the junk from our fridge and replace them with healthy food that will help in the weight loss.

Here are 10 foods that aid in weight loss and should be in every weightwatchers refrigerator:

  • Vegetables

There is nothing better to silence hunger pangs than by munching on vegetable sticks like carrots, celery or even cucumbers. The varieties of vegetables are endless, so do stock up on these perishables. You can eat them as it is or with interesting low fat dips.

  • Fruits

Another way to keep you keeping full and refreshed is snacking on the fruits of the season. Berries, bananas, mandarins etc… the list is endless. It’s uncomplicated; justgrab a few and you can have them on the go.

  • Nut butter

You should always get your dose of healthy fats in a day. A well balanced diet that includes fats is ideal form of getting nutrition.

Simply spread on some peanut butter or almond cream on whole grain toast and that will keep your tummy full longer than usual.

  • Almond milk

This is one of the substitutes available for regular dairy milk. It contains lesser fat and calories as compared to dairy milk. So use almond milk to dunk your cereal and granola bars.

  • Hard boiled eggs

Eggs are the best source of protein for all ages. It is power packed with enough protein to get you through the entire day.

  • Greek yogurt

Sweet cravings never end for some people. So if you have a sweet tooth and want a touch of something sweet, simply top some Greek yogurt with fruits and you will have a sweet snack on hand.

It can be used in place of butter in making baked goodies.

Green leafy veggies are shortcuts to getting your daily dose of vitamins and minerals. Just choose it top your salads, sandwiches, pizzas and pasta and benefit from its goodness.

Hummus is another protein rich dish that you can eat when you’re hungry. Use it as a dip for your veggies or use it as a spread on whole wheat or multigrain bread.

Lemon is the best way to detox and lose weight. Squeeze it in a glass of warm water and drink on an empty stomach in the mornings on an empty stomach for best results.

You can even use it to jazz up your other drinks like soda, ginger ale etc…

  • Lean protein

There are some days when you don’t want to cook an elaborate meal. Simply keep pre-cooked lean meat in your fridge for this purpose. Mix them in some dressing and use to make a sandwich or to toss us a salad.
