Zack Snyder's definitive director's cut of Justice League, which has been talked about and hyped up so much over the past few years. The film sees Bruce Wayne joining forces with Diana Prince and bringing together a team of metahumans to protect the world and ensure that Superman's sacrifice was not in vain.

This is quite a strange review to try and put together in all honesty as I'm not even sure if I managed to watch Justice League more than the cinema visit on release. To which I felt it was a little bit of a mess and that everything with the different superhero characters was very rushed. Therefore something I felt was better within this version was more of a backstory for them and extended scenes. I hope that is actually part of it as there was only small moments I felt like I even remembered.
The Justice League formed made up of Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash must attempt to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid. Given that I am not someone who has ever read a comic book and everything I know about the characters has come from different films and tv, in terms of the bad guys my knowledge is very slim.
The thing is with that is that I actually feel that now the majority of people (including myself) who really enjoy the comic book adaptations have never read the comics, therefore depending on the characters we might need a little bit more information. Not with Bruce Wayne/Batman though as we have seen that told so many times in nearly all of the Batman films. I had watched The Flash TV series so knew more about that backstory and multiverse. When you get to Cyborg I felt we had more information this time around as that is a character that I felt was not given enough screen time in the first version.
When film has a running time of almost four hours it is quite a difficult task to ensure that it does not actually feel all that long. So basically with that I think about Lord of the Rings, as I adore them and they don't drag or feel long at all. The only thing is this film dragged in places and felt its length which just meant I wasn't fully engaged throughout. I guess it was always going to be difficult given the circumstances of the release.
Giving characters more screen time was probably the best thing for me, however I was still not blown away by the storytelling and action on screen. Also that Joker scene near the end was horrific!
