7.1 Zebulon, 10, rue de Richelieu/7, rue Montpensier in the 1st (Metro: Palais-Royal), 01.42.36.49.44, closed Sundays, is the second restaurant of the Pirouette team, but with a new chef, one Yannick Lahopgnou, originally from Cameroon but via a starred Michelin in Osaka.  I entered to great fanfare from greeter-frontman Thomas Chaput who told me they had 140 different wines upstairs and in the cellar.  The outside is gunmetal grey, the inside quite warm and the chairs are really special.

My friend, a famous blogger, had what was called lettuce but was tender pork with and outstanding sauce and I had a warm confited (marinated) piece of daurade with a sweet and sour sauce.  Both were outstanding.

Then she had (she was having the 20 E menu) a lovely slice of mullet noir and I had an esquisite pigeon, the breast of which was terrific, but the legs of which had been infused (we quessed) with its liver, and a perfect celery puree.

My guest had a concoction of mandarines and ice cream and I wasn't going to have anything but our host implored me to try the pear with honey - Wow, was he right, it was superb.

Our bill with decent bread, no bottled water, two coffees and a bottle of wine (my apero was comp'd as was the pear), was 101 E.

Go?  Run!  The hit of 2015.
