Pretty sure that Colby Smulders was recovering from the flu  during the filming of last nights How I Met Your Mother, unless she lost her voice when she realized that the guy that played her dad a few years ago on the show had been replaced by Ray Wise the guy who played the devil in Reaper. This week, Robin wanted Barney to ask her Dad's permission to get engaged but he wouldn't give it . Barney tried everything, even dying his hair black. Finally after Robin found out on her Dad's Facebook page that he was secretly married, he gave them the go ahead (Only if his wife could sing "Cheeseburger in Paradise" at the wedding).  Lily and Ted were in a battle to plan Robin and Barney's wedding.  Lily wanted a band and Ted wanted a DJ.  After a touching moment on the roof where Lily has a postpartum breakdown and admits that being a Mom can suck at times and Ted admits that Robin should be with him and not Barney, they both agree to accept their lot in life and move on.  Four months later, Ted's on the subway telling Zoey Hart /Summer from the OC and her friend, that the wedding band cancelled at the last minute and the girls recommend their friends band and guess what...THEIR FRIEND IS THE MOM!!!!!  We didn't see anything but her arm and her pink guitar, and Carter Bays better not think that's enough for the rest of the season, but it was enough to make me happy...for now!

I had seen the pilot of The Carrie Diaries over the Summer and really liked it.  I thought the set up was great and I'm really looking forward to getting into this show next week. I hope a lot of you guys checked out that pilot last night.  I've already heard from a few people that liked it, but feel free to send me a note and let me know your thoughts.

On Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Yolanda is obsessed with lemons and the master cleanse.  Kim and Kyle are both bummed about their relationship.  Kyle's talks about it with anyone who will listen and Kim talks about it with her life coach. The Vanderpumps obsession with pink is out of control, but I gotta give it to Ken, Lisa's husband, he made Lisa a huge pink swing with pink flowers and got Jiggy all dressed up in pink, and put him on a pink doggie lounge chair while he pushed his wife and hoped to get a little action out of her for his romantic gesture. Adrienne and Paul weren't in this weeks episode but we heard that they threatened to sue Brandi unless she signed a confidentiality clause. Kyle hosted a dinner at a Moroccan place where I'm pretty I noticed a Kim Richards nip slip.  Just like all dinner parties on this show, everyone ends up yelling and telling each other to F off.  I really need to take a step back re-evaluate my choices.  Maybe it's time to give this one up too?  Who am I kidding? I can't do it. Last night, I caught up on some of  the Sunday shows I missed on Golden Globe night too.  I was torn about missing Downton Abbey, so that was my first priority.

Everyone was psyched for Lady Edith and the one armed old dudes' wedding.  Lots of flowers, a beautiful cake and even a beautiful dress.  Lady Mary had a great line prior to her sisters big moment: "Edith, I know we haven't got along and I doubt things change much in the future but today I wish you all the luck in the world". Basically, I hate you, you hate me, but good luck. Hilarious.  Unfortunately good luck was something Lady Edith didn't have and Antony called off the wedding. Poor Edith. Mrs. Hughes on the other hand, did have some good luck, as she found out that she doesn't have cancer and can keep on working her ass off day and night at Downton. We were all relieved, but it was Mr. Carson who was so happy about the good news, that he actually started singing while polishing the silver. Awwww soooo cute Mr. Carson.  The war between Thomas and O'Brien is extremely enjoyable to watch, mainly because you hate them both so much you don't even care who wins. When I first heard that Robert lost all of his money on a bad investment, I felt really bad for everyone having to leave Downton.  What would they do? Where would they go? Well, it turns out, they have another big castle not too far away.  Sure all the windows were broken, and it was a bit smaller than they'd like but they weren't going to be homeless or anything, but the show is called Downton Abbey.  They needed to stay or change the name of the show to Dowtown Downton.  No need because guess who saved the day...Daisy the kitchen maid of course! By admitting that she mailed Lady Lavigna's letter, Matthew was able to honor her relatives wish, accept the money, and is now a co-owner of the estate.  Yeah everyone wins, nobody's leaving...yet.

I just had to check out the new Pete Rose reality show on TLC, Pete Rose: Hits & Mrs. Okay, I did, and now I don't have to ever watch it again.  Pete's 71, has nasty teeth, is overweight, has terrible hair and can barely speak English. He's engaged to Kianna Kim a 31 year old Korean model with two kids who has huge lips, huge boobs and swears she's not a gold digger and has her own money to buy all the Chanel bags she wants.  She refers to Pete and herself as Felons and Melons...lovely.  All of Pete's shirts have "Hit King"stitched into the collars and he's just not fun to watch. Sorry Pete, no Season Pass for you. I just can't do it.

Two big revelations on Once Upon a Time this week.  The first...there are Pop Tarts in Storybrooke and the second, Emma has apparently seen The Shawshank Redemption.  In addition to this big news,  Rumple created a potion where he could leave Storybrooke with this green shawl and still remember everything, but Hook stole it and hid it on the invisible boat. We learned Belle is a great finder of missing people and missing things.  So much so, that she can find invisible boats and this thing called a Yargwhy which was really Phillip, Aurora's prince who was cursed.  Rumple beat the crap out of Hook, but Belle made him stop before he killed him.  She should have let him kill the guy because just as Rumple's about to go on his journey to find his son, Hook shot Belle sending her over the Storybrooke dividing line and she forgot everything. Just when we think the shows over and things are bleak, a car came flying down the road and hit Hook, (not sure if he's dead) but this is a regular person who has now infiltrated Storybrooke...net/net...more trouble is headed to their way.

I consider myself a relatively intelligent person, but Revenge is just really getting too confusing for me. Other than Jack being in jail and Daniel paying a million bucks for a bad bottle of wine, I'm not really sure who's screwing over who at this point.  There are just so many hats in the ring. Victoria and Conrad, The Initiative lady and Padma, Daniel, Aidan and Emily, Nolan, Marcus, Amanda, I honestly can't keep it straight and now the Nip/Tuck guy's in the show.  It's really too much.  They need to reel it in a bit and is it me or does Charlotte seem high again? I know she isn't but she seems high when she speaks now.  Whatever, it was just way too much this week.  Back it down guys.
News & Information:

-On Saturday, the AFC Divisional Playoff game between the Ravens and the Broncos delivered 35.3 million viewers up 3% from last year's 34.2 million.  This was the largest audience for a Saturday game in 26 years!

-Nielsen released this information yesterday and it's hard to really know the deal for pure Primetime viewing as this shows TOTAL DAY time-shifting data, but the take away here is that the majority of Broadcast, Cable and Syndication viewing is live.  Take a look if you don't believe me!

-All of the Showtime season premieres on Sunday, delivered a significant year over year increase. Shameless delivered 2.0 million total viewers, up +46% over the series' season two average (1.36 million).  House of Lies delivered 1.19 million viewers, up +43% over its first season average of 830,000 and Californication delivered 1.07 million total viewers, up +48% versus the season five average of 722,000.  Sorry, I don't watch any of these shows, but I know they're favorites of a lot of you guys.
-The Viggle/Get Glue deal has been called off.  Apparently Viggle couldn't get the 60MM it needed to complete the deal. Oh well, I'm still Viggling and getting gift cards and quite frankly that's all I care about with these check-in apps...prizes!

-For anyone who has read this blog for a while, you know that I always imagine life at the Chen/Moonves breakfast table right? Well, I'm betting that breakfast wasn't so great a few days ago when Les sat down to oatmeal and fruit and learned that CNET (a Viacom owned company) gave one of its "Best of CES" awards to Dish Networks Hopper with Sling product. Yep that's right, same company he and the other networks are currently suing because the technology puts the ad model at risk.  I can picture Les slamming his tablet down on the table startling Julie and trying to find Greg Sandoval's number in his Samsung Galaxy 3S (I bet you thought I would think Les would have an Iphone...nah).  Well, Greg didn't have a great breakfast either. Once Les made the CNET team re-vote on the Best of CES products, Greg resigned his position and took to Twitter saying "I no longer have confidence that CBS is committed to editorial independence." Les is a powerful guy...Julie likes him that way.
