Have a Magnificent Day When Anything Can Happen! (Photo credit: aneye4wonder (Ineta McParland))
Do you remember seeing the film G.I. Jane? Where Demi Moore, besides being totally hot looking goes into the Navy seals program – Viggo Mortgenson the actor quotes from a poem book in the scene of the first day of seal training – and the quote was, “I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself.” – What a good thing to mention on this week of the discipline theme.
It’s easy to feel sorry for ourselves – and think sometimes that it’s not our fault that we have the life we have – when indeed it is not only our fault – it is our doing totally and completely.
I earned this body, this house, the relationships I have – I was actively involved. If I’m unhappy with any of it – or if any of it needs attention or improvement – that’s up to me and feeling sorry for myself is pointless.
Henry Ward Beecher gave this great advice on discipline – “Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself. Never pity yourself. Be a hard master to yourself – and be lenient to everybody else.”
Are you happy with what you are creating? What could you do differently today to have ever better tomorrows?
You Create Your Day by the way You Think! Be Present!
Go make it a Magnificent Day!
