Happy New Year!
It’s just me – in the morning, after writing this post. Not perfect — many things I’d like to improve, but happy to be me. : )
While you may be receiving lots of blog posts talking about a fresh start for a healthier new year, and I’ve got lots to share on that matter, I think it is important to honor yourself, your intentions and feel proud about who you are NOW, not in 2 weeks, 2 months or when-ever that goal may be. Set your intentions, focus on a healthy eating plan and be consistent, but don’t “hold your breath” until you’ve reached your desired weight, shape or that fat percentage.
Start everyday with a healthy attitude. What do you like about yourself? What is your strongest potential right now? What do you feel makes you strong? Send a positive message to yourself everyday, first thing and carry the vibe throughout the day.
I remember taking a yoga class, all of us struggling to reach and extend into a difficult pose (it takes concentration, motivation, stretching beyond our boundaries, etc) and then with all the effort from all our body, mind and intent, the teacher then says to “SMILE”. Sounds funny, but that smile can make a difference, whether slight or significant. That smile, that positive outlook can propel us forward in everything we do. Of course, we don’t want to walk around with a face smile on our face all day long. But keeping even just a little piece of happiness inside can resonate in everything we do.
So be happy! Let yourself shine. Turn that “ugly workout face” upside down. It’s time to honor yourself, who you are and your intentions. Work hard, focus, set your goals and take action. But remember to go easy on yourself. Don’t expect too much too soon or tackle a project that is much to large. Discover your inner grace while talking it one step at a time.
Q: What makes you smile? What are you grateful for?
Yours truly,
Lauren
