Besides the fact that this house is actually an old palace ( how fabulous would that be to say “Oh, yes, please do visit. We have our little palace in Seville”….) the story of this quite magnificent palace refurb is its designer Lorenzo Castillo. I saw (and re-pinned) so many of his rooms on Pinterest, when I spotted this house in Veranda Magazine, I knew it was a Lorenzo Castillo design immediately. He is known for his love of antiques, and even has a shop in Madrid selling Old World treasures.
The entrance to the palace has beautiful old tiling along the walls and even a little kitchen area to the side. the mosaic floor repeats the same blue motif from the walls. The natural light is stunning and I can just imagine a fountain tickling away somewhere…
These Andalusian patios are so comfortable. I would probably keep the glass doors open, I love indoor/outdoor rooms. Probably because I grew up in a cold climate so that still feels like a novelty to me. Or that I am on holiday.
A palace just demands four poster canopy beds, doesn’t it? The walls are actually upholstered in velvet (how luxurious!) from Lorenzo Castillo’s own collection for Gaston & Daniela.
The mirror in the bathroom is from 17th century. Dark marble sink adds glamour.
Another indoor/outdoor patio area. The patio actually wraps around the Palace. I can imagine candle light and cocktails here.
Over the top, yes, but so befitting of the grand framework of the palace. The chandelier must be stunning in the evening and is Napoleón III 19th-century. I always associate the dark vibrant red with Andalusia.
The master bedroom continues the red theme. The red and gold chairs are Venetian. The ceiling pendant adds a Moroccan influence.
The master bedroom bathroom is decadent in gold and marble.
A bedroom fit for little Princesses. I love how even the ceiling continues the pink theme. Ultra sophisticated with the black accents and the chandelier!
