You Cannot

By Mike Bullock

take

You cannot take it with you
That’s what they always say
No matter how you build your pile
When you’re gone, it will stay
So while you’re being stingy
By hoarding loads of dross
You’re missing out on what it’s for
And all your gain is loss.

God provided everything
Your gifts, your wealth, your job
To share with those of greater need
So moth and rust won’t rob
When you finally get to heaven
Your  home will be a slum
Because your treasure stayed down here
How could you be so dumb.

YOU CANNOT
