The NY Times reports that a Federal Appeals Court has ruled that it is legal for Yelp to lower a company’s rating if it does not advertise on Yelp. Yelp denies that it does this kind of thing… but it looks like it can going forward, so thanks Court!

Sure, some customers may have to spend hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars in legal fees to get there, so it can be a bit pricey. But it is always worth it. And we’re not saying this because the Federal Appeals Court advertises on Yelp.*****”
