Writing Books

By Joyweesemoll @joyweesemoll

I mentioned on Wednesday (Book Review: The Writer’s Journey by Christopher Vogler) that I own more writing books than any other genre but, in the past, have been lax about reading them cover to cover so I’ve only reviewed a couple on the blog. Satia of Satia’s Journal wanted to know about my other writing books so I promised a photo. Here are all the writing books I currently own (unless there’s a couple more lurking in places I didn’t look):

I uploaded a larger photo than normal so you can read most of the titles. The slim black one between One Year to a Writing Life and The Art of Creative Nonfiction is a book I read for my New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge: . The one kind of tucked underneath of The Writer as Artist and so hard to see is Natalie Goldberg’s second writing book, Wild Mind: Living the Writer’s Life. Let me know if you want titles or authors for any of the other books that aren’t clear from the photo.

That’s 31 books. I also own 3 baby name books even though I’ve never had a child.

Right now, besides The Writer’s Journey, I’m working with Save the Cat by Blake Snyder and 45 Master Characters by Victoria Lynn Schmidt. If I manage to read them all the way through, I’ll post reviews in the next couple of weeks.

How many writing books do you own?
