Hip Hip Hooray!
Exactly a year ago, I was in the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital having a total hip replacement. Aged 42.
If you’ve seen this operation on shows like RPA, you’ll know it’s no walk in the park and involves tools like saws, chisels and hammers. I’m pleased to say, I was really quite brave although it’s not an experience I’m looking forward to repeating, in 15 or so years, when this bit of metal has worn itself out.
So many positives – no more crippling pain, no more walking stick (hey I was far too young and blonde for one of them) and only a few negatives – I beep at some airports (a bit exciting don’t you think?) and I have to have my legs waxed because bending to shave is a no-no.
Baby Girl will have to be content that I’ll never be a mom who can contest the parent 100m dash at school sports days – I’m bionic, wouldn’t be fair would it
