Wish List Wednesday | Jars, Skirts, Gems, Globes!

By Natacha Neveu @thesortinghouse

Welcome to Wednesday on TheSortingHouse, where each week I share something that has inspired me, either to buy it, or to pine for it. Keep reading to find out what made the wish list this Wednesday.

As usual any relevant product links are under the Shop the Look section. I love hearing from you and if you’d like to get in touch, you’ll find all my contact details under the Over to You section – all near the end of the post, but you can use the index menu to jump, and don’t forget to Subscribe for new posts via email.

My latest obsession has been the Want by Svpply app on the iPad  which links to my Svpply account (@thesortinghouse). I’m not too sure how to describe Svpply, other than a kind-of-Pinterest-meets-Etsy type thang. Where you follow people or brands who interest you, and you can see their feeds of products they either Own, Want or have Collected (Collections are like Svpply’s answer to Pinterest’s Boards) – you can also buy the items too. The cool thing about the Want by Svpply app in particular, is that I think it produces your daily ‘finds’ based on what you Wanted, or Collected during the previous day’s issue.

I haven’t purchased a single thing on there yet, but oh my are there some goodies. The Want by Svpply app is a bit weird in that it gives you a guide price rather than an actual price, so rather than saying something is £7.99 it will be listed as £1-£10 – however most of it is listed in $, and some of it is listed as an actual price – bit inconsistent to say the least. You might be able to find out the actual price by clicking through on the link, but I’m far too lazy for that. The Want by Svpply app on the iPad is much nicer than the regular Svpply app on the iPhone – which I find the interface to be an absolute disgrace and just can’t seem to get in to using it.

Wish List Wednesday | Jars Skirts Gems Globes

Shop the Look

1. Stacked Apothecary Jars

Stacked Apothecary Jars

These are so cute! I love glass jars in all shapes and sizes, but especially dig that these are stackable – hello small living spaces! You could use them for loads of things, but I would probably use them much the same as in the photos. (Maybe minus the shells)

You can get hold of these Stacked Apothecary Jars from West Elm (American shop) for $34-$49. If you don’t fancy waiting for them to arrive from across the pond, I found similar ones available in the UK for £29 from Greige.

2. You Sent Me Skirt

You Sent Me Skirt

As the weather is getting nicer I’m started to look forward to wearing lighter colours for Spring and Summer. The ‘You Sent Me’ skirt from Nasty Gal (top picture) is gorgeous, and would look amazing with a loose plain tank top and some sandals for a casual look. However the one in the picture above doesn’t seem to be available on the UK Nasty Gal site, but you can get the one in the pic at the side, for £71.99 - I don’t personally like it at all compared to the one above. It was the flattering white panel and side detailing on the one above that I liked and without it, in my opinion not so hot.

3. Crystal Bullet Pendants

These are really pretty, but when I went on the site to find out more for you guys – my Webutation browser extension alerted me that the website actually has a really bad reputation (only 40 out of 100) with reviews from 3 people stating high shipping costs, undelivered items and non-existent customer services. It might not be the case for everyone, but maybe think carefully before entering any personal details on their site. For these reasons I’m not going to provide a link, but you can see the Shop’s score for yourself on Webutation.

4. Mid Century Black Rand McNally Globe

I’ve always had a fascination with globes, and remember one I used to have as a child that had a light in it – definitely not as suave as this one. Its a vintage black and brass globe that was made in the 1950′s by Rand Mcnally and was being sold by Lackluster Co. on Etsy but is now obviously sold.
