WINTER WONDERLAND: Printicular

WINTER WONDERLAND: Printicular

I’ve always loved taking photos. When I was a teenager I would buy disposable cameras, my dad then bought me my very own digital camera, which then turned into bigger and better SLR cameras and somehow, just out of convenience, I downgraded to using camera phones and when Instagram was invented, of course it was all over from there.

But since technology took over the world, the old school photos still existed but didn’t really take any place in our homes in frames and albums, unless you made the effort to save photos onto USB, go to a print shop and then remember to pick them up later. Too much of a headache. But recently I found a company (via Instagram – who would have thought, aye) who will print your Instagram photos from your account and sent them to your home.

This company is called Printicular.

While there are lots of different apps who do the same thing, but I am really impressed with this particular company. Having said that though, the only thing I do wish they had was options to have either gloss or matte film and if you want black or white borders around your photos. It also helps if you have a lot of photos you want to printed off, because if you have 100 or more photos printed, they’ll send you your beautiful prints for free.

My experience with them has been flawless so far. I submitted 125 photos to be printed off on a Sunday night, which cost just over $48AU, got notification around noon on Monday that they had been dispatched and by Thursday that same week, I had my prints in my hot little hands.

Now price for 100+ prints was pretty damn good. I’m not too sure how much it is for under 100 prints, but free shipping is always helpful.
I printed 125 photos and didn’t pay $49AU, which extremely affordable. I’ve tried different apps where 125 photo costs over $120 and that doesn’t include shipping.

Download Printicular from iTunes for FREE! (App also available for Android.) Not only can you print from your Instagram account, you can link to your Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, Google+, Picasa and Dropbox accounts, as well as your local photos on your phone.

However, if you don’t want to print off that many photos, Printstagram, Photify and Origrami have great prices and offer different ways you can print your photos; sizes, greeting cards and even mosaic style posters.
