Fattoria La Valentina Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2010 Review:
4 out of 5 wine glasses for the money ($11-$15)

Fattoria La Valentina Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is one of our favorite everyday Italian wines (we have favorite wines from all the wine producing countries and drink one from each country per day as recommended by our physician). This one we usually have with pasta dishes.
Italian wine with pasta. I know. We’re really blazing our own path with that one. We’re like Lewis and Clark that way. Only with less syphilis.
Anyway, our awesome boutique wine store Bin 201 in Annapolis (small but fabulous selection – even the cheapest bottles are good) has it for $14.99, but I’ve seen it as low as $11.99 online (and if you get a case discount, as we do, that helps too.) We’re going to get all the money back when we sue Bin 201 for liver failure in few years.
Fattoria La Valentina Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2010 (the actual review)
Fattoria La Valentina Montepulciano d’Abruzzo has a red fruit flavor at first sip, without being “fruity.” It’s clean on the palate. It really is meant to have with food, like red pasta dishes and beef. A nice boar ragu. The finish is black cherry/cranberry/licorice, but not obnoxiously so. And I, of course, mean black licorice. Are there Black Vines like Red Vines? I’m not sure because I live in Twizzler country. Do they call them Black Vines or just Red Vines that are black, and wouldn’t that be false advertising?
I hope I get better at writing these wine reviews. I feel like this one got a bit rambly.
