Wild Geese 4th Centennial is a blended Irish Whiskey that’s supposedly sourced from Cooley and is a fairly standard release as far as Irish Whiskey goes. I didn’t really find anything particularly exceptional about what was in the bottle and as far as I can tell, due to lack of documentation on the site, it’s nothing more than a typical youngish Irish Blend. So if you’re looking for a fairly standard blended Irish Whiskey in an interesting bottle look no further; the Wild Geese 4th Centennial has got you covered!

NOSE
Honey, dried fruit, malt, grainy sweetness, apples and bananas with light notes of caramel and Nilla Wafers. Not complex, but nice for what it is.
PALATE
Honey, malt, fruit, dried apples, spice, caramel and light notes of bananas and ‘Nilla Wafers. Like the nose it’s not something to go wild about, but it ain’t terrible either.
FINISH
Medium fade of fruit, malt, honey and a weird almost bubblegum-like sweetness.
BALANCE, BODY & FEEL
Ok balance, medium-light body and a flaxen, nearly watery, feel.
OVERALL
Wild Geese 4th Centennial has an essence to it that makes me think of Bushmills despite it supposedly being sourced from Cooley. It’s not complex, but it is a good warm representation of a blend and tastes like it could have a slightly higher-than-normal amount of single malt in the blend. Though that’s nothing to write home about when the overall character still comes across as rather “meh”. In the end the Wild Geese 4th Centennial is one of those whiskeys that’s just sort of… there.
