Why I Love the Royals.

Why I love the royals.
So, Prince George of Cambridge has arrived and yet again we find the country in some sort of disagreement over how much the population really appreciates the royal family and what they do for us.  I think it's difficult to truly estimate the benefits of the royal family, and I also find that one thing I the subject of the Royals is something that I cannot 'agree to disagree' with people upon. I'm very very supportive of the Royal Family, and cannot stand to sit and listen to people being so negative about something so positive and beneficial to our country and in some cases other countries!
This is extremely hard for me to digest, I might just be a traditionalist, but I LOVE the royals. I'm well aware that everyone is sick of this Royal baby chat but I can't help myself, especially being as I haven't blogged in a while! Here are my reasons for absolutely adoring the royal family:
1) I love what the royal family represent. This may sound ridiculous but I feel like the royal family are almost ambassadors of the country, they tour the world showing themselves off to be such lovely, caring people and this reflects on Britain. They make us look good, even though quite a lot of the general population have nothing good to say about them, they make us look good as a nation.
2) The Royals unite us. They bring the country and even the world together. Millions of people gathered around their televisions, or gathered on the streets, or held parties for the Royal wedding and for the birth of the Prince of Cambridge. Everyone seemed to be celebrating something together, and lets be honest, I love an excuse for my sister to have some sort of family gathering and make me lots of food - so I can't resist!
3) Consistency. The Royal Family are about the one thing in this country that remains consistent. Politics is ever changing - and although there is the 'Royal Prerogative' - the queen has little to no say in anything that happens in the country, but she is always there with her family. Every year we watch her do her speech at Christmas, and it provides us with some sort of consistency. Everything in the world is constantly changing, you never know what challenges the country may have to face, but no matter what the royal family has never changed. Throughout wars, recession, numerous prime ministers - they have always been the same. And to be quite frank, there is something about this that relaxes me, I love consistency - I'm not adverse to change - but I like that the royals will always be the royals and they will always be the same. It is comforting.
4) Money. I can't really talk about the in's and out's of what the royal family do bring to this country, but it is around 200 million mark annually, and as the royal family take an annual salary of about 42 million - that leaves them making about 158 million a year for OUR country.. can't say that we could do with loosing that money at the moment... However, the only reason I know these things is because I watched the best video ever about how this by CPG Grey, I'll put the link in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhyYgnhhKFw
5) Finally, and this one is a little mushy. I love romance, and Kate and Will provide me with this on my television and in my newspapers, and now they have little baby Prince George - and its just adorable! I just don't understand how people can be so negative about something so traditional and so normal. Yes they are royals, but their lives are normal and quite nice to watch, and actually they don't attempt to shy away from the press or the world.. They are proud and the proudness they portray reflects in some of the UK citizens and makes them (mainly me) feel proud to be British.
I think that pretty much covers everything..Muchos love Ysabelle xxxxxxx
