I never worked at a corporate office with strict formal dress code, the highest code of sartorial professionalism in whichever place I worked was semi-formals. I always desired owning formal pantsuits but considering the nature and dress code at all my former employers, I never actually owned a coordinating two piece pant suit. I would mix and match separate pieces from my closet to make a pant suit, but matching top and bottom was never a part of my closet.
Now, that I have no intentions of going back to any sort of corporate setting, I am digging pant-suits all the more and not just pant suits; pant suits in over-the-top colors and whimsical prints. For instance this pant suit that BTW is on clearance made it's way to my closet on a whim. I was casually perusing the retailer's website and this set caught my attention and without any second thought I clicked "place order" and thereafter rest is history.
Outfit details
Honestly, I didn't really need another pant set in my closet that I will have nowhere to wear until this whole pandemic thing gets under control. I have been really wise about my spending and buying stuff that I need or is on a sale good enough to pass and this set falls under that latter category.
Anyways, here's why I bought this set.
- It is printed and you all know I'm a sucker for print-mixing.
- The butterfly print is a reminder of how beautiful summer is.
- It was on sale for under $150, bottom and blazer including.
- It fits beautifully.
- It has thin cords which makes it totally wearable in fall and beyond.
- As it has thin cords, it is elongating and flattering.
- It is a bright color and I'm all about wearing color all year round.
