Why Do Car Crashes Still Occur In 2018?

By Lamamma @LAmamma1

Cars have been a big part of everyday life for a number of decades now. So much so, that it can be quite surprising that crashes and accidents still happen out on the roads. Unfortunately, they still occur fairly frequently and are a common cause of injury and death. So, why do accidents keep on happening when our cars are the safest they have been and our roads are ruled with so many strict rules and regulations? Well, there are a number of reasons why that might be. Here are just a few.

Why Do Car Crashes Still Occur In 2018?

Speeding

One of the biggest reasons why crashes still occur is that there are some drivers who still think it is ok to speed. If you are running late, it can be tempting to push the gas pedal slightly and go a bit quicker, but this is not safe for you or other road users. The faster you go, the more likely it is that you will lose control of the car, and that could spell disaster when you are driving at top speeds.

Drink Driving

Driving after drinking alcohol is incredibly dangerous, but it’s something that some drivers continually do, especially younger road users. Even though you are allowed to have a very small amount of alcohol in your blood when you get behind the wheel, it’s still best to be on the safe side and not consume any alcohol at all. When you do drink, your reaction times slow right down, and you might not be able to react to sudden changes in the environment around you. So, don’t ever be tempted – just put down the drink.

Bad Weather Conditions

Drivers are also likely to lose control during bad weather. If someone ever loses control in heavy rain or snow, at least you can get in touch with an accident lawyer and see about claiming compensation. After all, poor conditions don’t make someone not-guilty of causing a crash! If you are worried about driving in bad weather, it’s best to stay put and postpone your journey until the weather clears up.

Driving At Night

It’s not just bad weather that can be difficult to drive in. Some drivers struggle at night in the dark as well. Although it’s not just bad visibility that makes driving at night hard – all of the lights on oncoming cars can be very distracting, and this can sometimes cause new drivers to be dazzled and lose control of their own vehicle.

Inexperienced Drivers

Drivers who don’t have much experience behind them are also a major cause of road traffic accidents. For this reason, it’s best for all new drivers to keep on building up their skills for some time after passing their test before they head out on long journeys on their own and on the highway.

Sadly, there are a lot of reasons why we still have car accidents out on our roads. But now you know what they are, you can make sure that you never end up causing one these ways again!
