I am new to Linux, very new. But after just a few days I am getting into the swing of things. Okay I know that there are one or two reasons to keep using Windows, but there must be quite a few advantages in using Linux.
As an operating system it has a feel that is not totally unfamiliar to a seasoned Windows user, but in other ways, I feel that I have so much to learn to be able to call myself a Linux man. I must admit that I have had a couple of problems, the first was with my printer, Dell do not supply a driver for Linux, but by spending a little time on Google, I soon got things working. I also had a little problem getting my Wi-Fi working, it took ten just minutes to get things sorted.
Okay so here are a few reasons why I think Linux is better that Windows.
1. Linux is FREE. And I like free.
2. Linux is not the demon to use that I thought it was going to be, in fact it's more fun to use than Windows, this may be because I am new to it, but it's always good and interesting to learn new things.
3. Most of the software that you use in Windows is also available in Linux, FREE, unlike Windows software that can be expensive.4. The security in Linux is superior to Windows. There is less chance of virus, spyware etc. infecting your machine when using Linux.
5. Linux is very stable, I know that Windows has improved over the past few years, but it's still not as good as Linux in the stability department.
6. It appears to be a lot faster to load, operate and close down than Windows
7. Did I mention that it's FREE
If I sat and thought about it, I could come up with a few more reasons to make the change, I could also come up with reasons not to change, but that's life.
