Why Can’t Women Get Along

I haven’t been watching much television lately, but of course that will all change when Scandal returns in October. Last night, I got a chance to catch the R&B Diva’s LA reunion show. It firmly reminded me of a few things about women that piss me off. Why can’t women get along? Why are we so catty? It has always been my belief that we need to be mindful of whom we keep in our social circle and the role that our friends play in our lives. The only thing I can write about last night is that the shade was real and each of them wore shady boots. As women, we all know that this is not far from reality.

Here’s a few reasons why women can’t get along:

Women are petty

Women love to hate on other women

Women like to attempt to make you feel bad

Women love to brag

Women talk too much

This doesn’t apply to all women, but if you’re ever been apart of girl drama then you know where I’m coming from.

If you’re lucky enough to find a group of girlfriends in which these situations don’t arise, then kudos to you and the company you keep. We all have disagreements and different viewpoints. Why can’t we just agree to disagree, acknowledge that we feel differently, and move on? You don’t have to share my viewpoints or always agree with me; you only have to respect me.

I know that on reality television there has to be drama for the ratings to be good. I guess no one wants to watch a bunch of women actually get along. But unfortunately, the bickering and backstabbing that happens between the women on these shows is a part of life that most of us face whether we want to or not. There is too much hate and not enough support.

Why do you think women have such a hard time maintaining friendships? Why can’t women get along?
