Whispers of Hope Awards Banquet

By Balancingonhoney @balancinghoney

Last week I won my very first blog giveaway from Caitlin! She was giving away Captain Jabbo Sailor Bracelets, and I chose the hemp one in a size 7″. I really had no idea what size to order, but the 7″ turned out perfect. Loose enough to fit over my softball hands and small enough not to slide down on my wrist.

The bracelet feels like it is very good quality and even has Captain Jabbo stitched n the inside.

For breakfast this morning I made some over-medium eggs and a piece of toast with sugar free apple butter. My breakfast was accompanied by a BIG mug of coffee for some wakeup juice!

Awards Banquet

Last night was the Whispers of Hope Annual Awards Banquet, and I was able to attend after just a few weeks of volunteering. An emotional Mary Elizabeth showed her appreciation for all the volunteers and expressed how proud she was of all the children. It was such a happy evening to watch the challenged children, volunteers, and show team receive their awards. I am so thankful to be apart of an organization with such a big heart. They even welcomed me to the program by including me in receiving a kiwi colored Whispers hoodie! I wont lie, I was feeling rather bashful at this moment.

Today, I am heading up to the barn to get horses ready for soldiers in the Wounded Warrior Program. Volunteering at Whispers has also been a much needed mental break for me from school and work. Since all my classes are online, it gives me a chance to get out of the house and get involved with the community. Something about non-profits makes me so very happy!

Do you have a favorite non-profit?

Is there one you are thinking about getting involved in?
