Which States Will Be the Best Places to Live in the Future?

By Homesmsp @HomesMSP

You may be surprised by Gallup's recent list of the top 10 states poised for the brightest future. My husband only guessed one... Minnesota! Learning, workplaces and health habits are what set the best states apart.

Metrics they rated when conducting interviews with more than a half million adults included...

  • Ease of finding clean and safe water
  • Having supervisors who treat workers like  a partner rather than a boss
  • Learning something new or interesting on any given day
  • Perceptions that one's city or area is "getting better" rather than "getting worse"
  • Smoking habits
  • Obesity
  • Standard of living momentum
  • Ease of finding a safe place to exercise
  • Percentage of workers an employer hires full time
  • Visits to the dentist
  • Job creation
  • Economic confidence
  • Evaluation of one's life five years from now
