It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Hello, summer reading.
Tomorrow morning, Brien and I are packing up the car and heading to Michigan! Every summer, a big group of friends and family gather on the lake for a perfect week. Because I was taking summer classes last year we weren’t able to go, so I am doubly excited for the trip!
I made my second (okay, third) trip to the library in a week yesterday. I think I’m set on books (and audiobooks, for the car). Here’s what I’m taking:
The Snow Queen
Before I Go To Sleep
The Rise And Fall of Great Powers
I usually take thrillers for long car trips. My family and I always listened to James Patterson novels, and Brien and I had The 5th Horseman for our trip to Maine. They’re not necessarily books I would read, but I love hearing them read to me! The suspense also does a better job of keeping me awake, as I conk out pretty easily.
Here are some books I’ve read and loved in the last few months:
Shotgun Lovesongs
The Patron Saint of Liars (One day, I will get to Ann Patchett’s bookstore in Nashville!)
Americanah
The Secret History
Eleanor & Park
Fangirl (I am fully on the Rainbow Rowell train!)
Delicious
If I Stay (another YA book; I wanted to read it before the movie comes out)
The Good Luck of Right Now
What’s on your reading list?
