Hi All,
Firstly I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and it is nearly time for the New Year celebrations to begin! I had a lovely festive time and have gorged myself silly – which is the point isn’t it!
Today I want to talk about my latest interior design craziness; let’s face it I do go through my fads at this time of year! Last year it was my new obsession with chairs and this year it is all about my windows, or to be more specific, my blinds. I used to be afraid of the dark but that has changed in recent months – maybe I have grown out of it, or maybe it is my illness; either way I like complete darkness so that I can sleep like a baby.
So I have been doing some hunting to see what I can find that will A. Fit in with my current decor and B. last for years as I don’t want to be changing them again for a while. Here we go then with my new design obsession – the Geek ‘O’ la Chic.
When it comes to all things geeky I will always go for the retro rather than the modern geek – I will usually choose Mario over Halo or Tomb Raider over Gears of War – oh and I mean original Tomb Raider for the PC rather than the latest one!
That is why when I began looking for a blind that would fit both my personality and love of all things retro, I didn’t have to look any further than this one from www.directblinds.co.uk. I know at least 3 people whose obsession with all things Mario would make this the ultimate in home decor. OK so let’s start with how this looks and let’s face it that is for me the best bit. The image made up of a variety of gaming items from the controllers all the way through to the smaller buttons that all work together to make the final image – so unbelievably cool and I know it isn’t my usual style but I am a closet gamer – shhhh don’t tell anyone!
Along with just being awesomely quirky, they are lined so that no light will enter the room. Perfect for my ultimate nights sleep but also great for any of us that enjoy a good movie in the dark or a gaming session with friends. The price point is great for such a unique pair of blinds as well – starting at 99 pounds what more could you want!
So there you have it – that is my find for the day – next up a new sofa!
