Happy Weekend! Finally.
I was up bright and early getting my run done at 7:15am. That’s pretty early for a Saturday. The weather was awesome. It was overcast and misty. My little iPod Shuffle was actually wet from the mist and I had to squint my eyes from the water in the air.
I did 3.01 miles, according to gmaps pedometer, in just over 30 minutes. This means I stayed true to my 10:50ish pace without the Garmin telling me. Yay legs for pacing.
After my run I hurried out the door to get over to Seaside for our first game today of the Seaside Basketball Tournament.
Breakfast
I stopped at the bucks for some tea and breakfast. I wasn’t hungry but I ordered the reduced-fat turkey bacon breakfast sandwich for when I would be.
It was delicious an hour later when I was finally hungry. I also had a venti awake tea with soymilk.
My tip, is get the awake tea but only one bag. Two makes the tea really strong.
We played two games this morning. The first was against a team from Nevada. It was so exciting we were within about 5 points of each other the entire game. The stands were going nuts at the end. We lost by 2 but the girls played really well.
The second game was against a team from San Jose, only an hour away and we won that game by 8. It was also really close until about two minutes left. We keep giving the stands good-exciting games.
Lunch
After the second game it was 1pm and I was definitely ready for some lunch. The soymilk in my tea and breakfast sandwich really held me over. All those complex carbs and protein right after my run really did the trick, I was full and energized.
I just had to go to Chipotle since it was literally on the way home. We don’t have one in Salinas. I had the chicken fajita bowl with no rice and added avocado. I didn’t need the carbs since my workout is over. But I did need some healthy fat and protein. Black beans, chicken, and guacamole to the rescue.
I’m home until 4pm taking it easy. We have another game tonight at 5. Go Cowboys!
