Bengali and Oriya customs are usually most prevalent in the weddings hell across Kolkata. Nonetheless, since Kolkata is home to a huge number of Bihari and Marwari populations, weddings in these traditions are also very relevant in Kolkata. From lavish Marwari weddings to simple Bihari or Bengali weddings are but stereotypical to the states of eastern India.
West and Down South
If we move to the Western Ghats, Mumbai and Gujarat offer a very colourful wedding tradition. Mumbai, being highly cosmopolitan, offers a wide range of weddings.
