Web Roundup: Lots of Interior Goodness (and One That Made Me Question My Career)

By Raymondleejewelers @raymondleejwlrs

True story: when I’m not drooling over engagement rings and designer jewelry, I’m obsessing over interiors. Celerie Kembel is my spirit animal. But I like to reserve that kind of eye candy for my “some day when I’m rich” mental category. In the mean time, there’s a lot of DIY going down, so I love stalking diy art & cool rental wall treatments. So today’s web roundup includes some snap shots from the other blogs I read in between my favorite jewelry blogs like Diamonds in the Library (amazing antique & vintage pieces, and BIG diamonds), Jewels du Jour (the best luxury auction coverage & eye candy from high jewelers) and Adornmentality (hilarious insider look at the industry). Don’t worry, I still included some sparkling, shameless self promotion at the end. But first, let’s all pause for a moment to contemplate expensive art. Like really expensive.

Barnett Newman Black Fire 1 $84 Million Painting

via Born Rich

Sorry, but WHAT? Barnett Newman This painting sold for $84 million human American dollars. I’m not art conoissier, and no disrespect to the artist or Ben Affleck, but I’ve seen Pinterest art that looked harder to create. Maybe I should ditch this whole blogger thing, bust out a can of spray paint + Frog Tape and go the artist route.

Now to the realm of paint I do understand, like the kind you buy at Home Depot. For WHY did I not know about these painting tricks until now? Painting life changed, forever.

Removable wallpaper

Unless I just decide to go this route instead. Even if you don’t rent, removable wallpaper seems much more alluring than removing it in 5 years when wallpaper goes out of style again.

However these Tiffany & Co. Jean Schlumberger star earrings have me planning for fourth of July already…Don’t they look like little fireworks?

I finally managed to finish the post about reasons not to have a first look before your wedding. It got some traction on Pinterest, but I want the world to know!

Found the engagement ring before he proposed? Here's your plan!

One Ring to Rule Them All

Ditto this helpful post from RLJ on what to do if you find an engagement ring before he proposes. Don’t worry, I included jumping up and down in a  circle squeeeeee-ing.
