A UK tech firm CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio) revealed a new line of Bluetooth smart jewelry at CES 2014.
A recent survey showed that 72% of participants thought that wearable tech should look good.
The pendant-style necklaces are powered by Bluetooth and work in both Android and iOS 7. The jewelry supports a “range of functions”, according to CSR, such as alerting users when a notification pops up on their smartphone via a flashing light. For example, the light flashes blue when you receive a text message or a phone call. Users can customize the color or brightness of the light to match their mood, personality or outfits.
The smart jewelry, which was designed in cooperation with boutique jeweler Cellini, features the company’s CSR1012 Bluetooth platform. This technology, created specifically for the wearable tech market, allows the jewelry to connect to smartphones using only a part of standard Bluetooth by connecting directly to a small lithium battery.
Wearable technology is becoming the trend of 2014 and we are sure there’ll be a lot more of it in the future.
