After a steady few months of Soundcloud releases, cryptic Twitter codewords and much discussion over online leaks; Childish Gambino’s Because The Internet is officially available.
Gambino marked the new album with an official video to the track ’3005′ which sees Donald and a teddy bear sat on a fairground wheel. Sound cute enough? Well beware, because all is not quite as cuddly as it seems.
The track is lyrically intense, with no word or phrase being used without having been fully loaded with hidden meanings and in-references that will no doubt have the people of Rap Genius picking it apart for months to come. On the surface the whole package comes across as a light-hearted single release from ‘that guy from Community’, but there is much more to Gambino, the album and this single than that.
