Fresh off the back of supporting The Weeknd on his recent run of American and U.K dates, Banks has unveiled this cover of ‘What You Need’, a track from The Weeknd’s highly regarded debut mix tape House Of Balloons. It’s as sultry as you’d expect, with Banks almost whispering her lines over the top of some ethereal, atmospheric melodies and pulsating drum patterns that throb with the essence of an after party gone sour.
For someone with only a handful of original material, it’s impressive to see Banks commanding a Maida Vale session with such a beguiling and captivating performance. Watch below:
