Vintage Style Baby Boy Nursery

Just a quick update today on all the rearranging plans that are happening here. My office/craft room is going to be moving into the guest room closet. Yes, the closet! You can see the plan here. Meanwhile this week, I am playing around with paint colors for my entire house. Shh, don’t tell my husband. Actually I did tell him, but I’m not sure he thinks I’m serious. I’m also making serious plans for the nursery.

I have finally wrapped my brain around the fact that we are having another boy. This is probably TMI but there was an incident last night that involved my boys and a poopy towel and our dog chewing the towel. The very existence of the towel was denied by both my boys (even with it right in front of them) until one of them finally caved and fessed up to having an upset tummy and getting into a real predicament on the potty. There are days when I raise my arms to the sky and yell “Why? Why is my house turning into a frat house?!” I really do love my boys despite all the gross boy things they do! And I am getting really excited to make a beautiful nursery for our new baby boy. One with washable slip covers and wipeable surfaces. Because if there is anything I have already learned by living with 2 little boys is that things can get down right dirty, fast.

I’m not a big fan of creating a baby style nursery with a baby theme, like Winnie the Pooh (pun intended). Seriously, the baby doesn’t really care. And as I have learned, babies grow up quickly. So I want to design a room that will be appropriate for some time. I plan to incorporate a lot of what I already have so this room will be very budget friendly. Like this Mid Century Modern Dresser that I painted (but I’m thinking of stripping it and refinishing). Oh, did I mention I found it in a neighbor’s yard with a free sign on it? Score! It’s now in the guest room but will make the switcheroo to the baby’s room.

I also have a crib that a friend gave to me for free. It’s going to get painted gray. I have the bookcase, a white chaise lounge chair, the vintage map, the globes and antique football pictures. I also have a gray and white striped rug that I DIY’d for my office makeover. They just live in different rooms now. These are all things that I have collected over time but I am so excited to bring them all together in one space. I have the vision…now you can get the vision too with my Vintage Style Baby Boy Nursery Mood Board.
